Sunrose Miniature Donkeys
Meet our loving baby longears!
We started Sunrose Miniature Donkey Farm in 2022. We had two babies the next year and they sold before we even had an opportunity to set up a website. This year, we already have one beautiful paint foal and are expecting four more. Feel free to contact us to set up a time to meet us, the herd and the babies.
We do NOT buy any of our donkeys at auction and have a closed herd, with no health issues. Deposits are taken on the foals, to hold them for you until they are weaned.
Mazie
Mazie is gray/brown with the standard cross markings. She is 34” and has an excellent conformation. She has the really fuzzy look that everyone seems to like (fuzzier in winter of course), with a beautiful head and ears. Mazie is 4 years old and has a foal at her side, which I’m planning on weaning soon. I am very attached to her foal and will probably be keeping it. Mazie leads and stands for the farrier. She’s robust and healthy - an easy breeder, easy birther and an excellent mom. She was exposed to a jack of similar size and color and should be due for a mid-late summer foal. Mazie’s price is $3500.
Rosie
Rosie is a beautiful Light Red Color, right down to her skin. Right now she’s in her winter coat but the color shows correctly in the photo. Some would call her “Pink”. Rosie has a beautiful head and face, with large dark eyes. She is sweet tempered, leads and stands well for the farrier. Rosie is just weaning her foal which has sold. She was exposed to a gray jack for a mid-late summer foal. Rosie is 9 years, turning 10 in May. Rosie is tiny, at 31”. She’s an easy breeder, easy birther and a fantastic mom. Jazzper
Jazzper is our first 2024 foal, born on June 24th. He was up and nursing in about 10 - 15 minutes and bouncing around his stall, playing, by the time he was an hour old. In many of these photos he is still wet from birth.
Jazzy is a mischievous and really fun little jack. He loves to be petted but is also the pasture clown.
Jazz is a paint foal - white with gray spots of all sizes, as well as some black and brown spots. He is very loving and quick to meet visitors for a nice back rub. We have 14 grandchildren so he has been loved and cuddled since he was born. They have been working with picking up his feet to stand for the farrier and leading. Jazzper is ready to wean now and his price is $1500.
CoCoBean
CoCo is our second 2024 foal, born on August 6. Quick to be up and nursing, playing and bouncing around his stall, by the time he was an hour old.
His personality is very laid back and loving. He is the ultimate cuddlebug.
CoCo’s face and head are a deep chocolate brown. His body coat is a medium silver gray, almost a gunmetal. Not the typical mixed coat of donkeys. He is super loving and runs to meet visitors like a puppy. We have 14 grandchildren so he has been loved and cuddled since he was born. They have been working with picking up his feet to stand for the farrier and leading. Coco will be ready to wean just after Christmas and his price is $1500
Suzie
Suzie is a tiny, supersweet girl. Always at your side hoping for a rub. She loves to meet people and is really gentle. We have 14 grandchildren and they can do anything with her.
Suzie is great for the farrier and dentist. She leads and behaves perfectly. Her personality is super gentle and laid back.
Suzie has been in with our male, so we suspect she is pregnant. Every other female that he’s been with had gorgeous babies. He is a tri-color paint - white with gray, brown and black spots all over. Suzie is $2800.
